Federal Energy Tax Credit

THV Compozit energy efficient windows and doors qualify for federal tax credit

The federal government's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides tax incentives for individuals to invest in energy-efficient products. Section 1121 of the stimulus package allows for homeowners who make energy efficient improvements, such as windows and doors, to their existing homes to receive a tax credit of 10% of the cost of the improvements. You can receive a credit of up to $500 under the program for improvements installed in 2011. Many THV Compozit products allow you to qualify for this stimulus package. The tax credit is for the cost of the product only and does not include the cost of installation.

Which products qualify?

The federal government put standards in place to make sure only highly energy efficient windows and doors would qualify under the program. To qualify, windows and doors must have a 0.30 U-factor and 0.30 Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) or better. THV Compozit carries windows with ratings as low as 0.16 U-factor and 0.21 SHGC so we obviously have plenty of products that enable you to qualify (the lower the rating, the better).
